Love to sing? Women sing East is an ongoing singing group for women. It offers you the opportunity to enhance your singing and performing skills, learn new songs and meet other people who love to sing. New members are always welcome and no previous experience is required. Led by inspirational jazz singer and workshop leader Laka D, the sessions are fun, informal and relaxed. This term Women sing East will be working toward an exciting lunchtime performance at Bishopsgate Institute’s in Spitalfields Music’s Winter Festival. In collaboration with Bishopsgate’s Tubthumping Chorus, both choirs will delve into songs from the archives of Bishopsgate Library which since 1885 have documented the history of protest and campaigning in British society.
Our Autumn term runs from Wednesday 16 October to Wednesday 11 December
Sessions are Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
There will be an additional rehearsal on Saturday 23 November from 10.00am – 1.00pm.
The final rehearsal will take place on Saturday 14 December at Bishopsgate Institute from 10.15am – 12.30pm followed by a performance at 1.15pm.
For more details, please see the Autumn 2013 Schedule attached on the right-hand side of this page.
Rehearsals will take at the Brady Arts & Community Centre and the additional Saturday rehearsal will take place at the Barbican.
