CLoSer, City of London Sinfonia’s informal concert series returns with a distinctly American flavour.
With music from adopted American, Igor Stravinsky, who composed his Concerto in D while living in Hollywood, the jazz inspired Clarinet Concerto from the “Dean of American Composers” Aaron Copland and the rhythmic Hommage à Liège, a concerto unusually set for guitar, bandoneón and strings by the greatest of Tango composers Argentine Astor Piazzolla.
Featuring Guest Artists the critically acclaimed guitar duo, Katona Twins, as well as virtuoso clarinettist and conductor Michael Collins, this promises to be a typically high energy, high octane performance from the orchestra.
CLoSer concerts last 80 minutes with no interval and allow musicians and audience to mingle, with no formal concert seating, and the bar stays open throughout. Doors and bar open 6.45pm.
