Spitalfields Speaks

Spitalfields Speaks is an ongoing sonic exploration of the East End, brought to life through the stories, memories and connections of people who live here. Over the past couple of years we have invited local people to work with sound artist Duncan Chapman, to create and share their own personal sound guide to the area which they call home. The sound guides, downloadable on the right hand side of this page, offer our audiences a unique insight into the area and its histories that you won’t find in the guide book.

Over the past few months we’ve been working with sound artist Duncan Chapman and local individuals to explore and capture the sounds, stories and memories that connect them to Spitalfields. Get your headphones at the ready and experience an alternative perspective into the area we all love.
